"One of the main benefits of the free app has been the ability to send out push notifications, which can be personalized based on location", Renfroe explains. "Previously, NALC sent blast messages to 70,000 email addresses when it needed to share information quickly. But, once the app was released, almost all users opted into receiving push notifications. Today, less than 1 percent of users still receive emails".

Virtual Organizing Is Happening Now
The problem today is that joining a union at work is decidedly last century—clunky, contentious, confusing—and companies want to keep it that way.
But virtual labour organizing changes that.
Labor organizing is more challenging and stressful than it needs to be. For the employees it can be a nerve-racking experience with some employers using assertive tactics like delays to slow down organizing drives, aggressive campaigns to discourage employees from supporting union movement, or even engage in unfair labor practices.
An organizing drive requires sharing information across a large group of coworkers, conducting conversations and achieving consensus. To gain the wealth of benefits a union offers there needs to be a tool that easily communicates, shares information and outweighs any employer tactics.
Our mobile app can take employees through the organizing process, provide safe two way communications and support a community all employees can engage with.
